Unison organise a variety of social and sporting events for the benefit of their members. If you would like to join in on any of the events you must be a member of Unison.
Unison have organised some excellent sporting events over the years including golf days, fishing trips, ten pin bowling, cricket, clay pigeon shooting and football competitions. If you have an interest in any of the below please contact us.
NEW for 2008. This event is likely to prove very popular and will take place on the 7 March 2008 at Belle Vue, Manchester. Return Coach travel will be included along with Admission, Racecard, Drinks Voucher, Tote Voucher, Fast Food Voucher etc. The Cost is £10. Unison are planning another day at the races after a very successful trip to York Race Course in October. This year’s venue is likely to be Chester. Once again the day will include a coach to the event and tickets to the stand. Further details regarding cost and dates will follow but if you are interested please contact unison.sports@unison.lancscc.gov.uk to add your name to the list.
This year we are planning 2 days golf for novice/non golfers. The venue is Garstang Golf Club. The first day will be 25 April 2008, with the second scheduled to take place on 19 September 2008. The format will remain the same with 9 holes in the morning and 18 holes in the afternoon. Male and female entries are welcome. The cost is £17 for Unison Members. Thursday 14th August at Leyland Golf Club for this year’s event. Entries are welcome from golfers with a valid handicap to enter the regional tournament. For information/booking please contact bernard.hargreaves@env.lancscc.gov.uk.
The event will be held on Thursday 3 July 2008 at the Dolphin Pub and shooting ground at Longton. You will shoot around 30 clays and pie & peas will be served in the pub afterwards. The cost for this will be £21 for Unison members. If you are interested please contact unison.sports@unison.lancscc.gov.uk. This event is for a limited number, so entries will be limited on a first come first served basis.
The rifle range was again a success in 2007. Entries are invited on a first come first served basis, for this event, which will take place in October/November 2008. For information/booking please contact unison.sports@unison.lancscc.gov.uk.
The event will be held on Wednesday 4th June 2008 at Nabs Head Lane, Salmesbury, starting at 7pm. The event will consist of a small competition and will last 2 hours. Each bowman can expect to shoot between 4 and 5 dozen arrows and we will be shooting at 10 yards. The cost of the event is £12 for Unison members. 11 a Side (The Dennis Pearson Trophy)
After the huge success of the Pearson Trophy last year entries are once again invited for the 2008 competition. If you feel you can enter a team to challenge last years winners Policy Unit then please contact unison.sports@unison.lancscc.gov.uk7 a Side
The 7 a side league season is currently being played with a new league due to start in March. There is also always room for extra squad members for our 16 strong teams. Please contact unison.sports@unison.lancscc.gov.uk should you require additional information.Lancashire Unison have been very successful in the Regional Cricket Comp over the last few years and this year should be no different.
